China Mobile Tianjin Company announced that the first 5G base station in Tianjin, one of the first batch of 5G application demonstration cities, was opened on March 30 at the Tianjin Open Laboratory of China Mobile 5G Joint Innovation Center.
It is understood that this new 5G base station is based on 5G advanced new technologies such as multi-antenna Massive MIMO (large-scale input and output) and new coding LDPC/Polar. It has ultra-large bandwidth and an experience rate of up to 1Gbps, which is equivalent to 100 times that of 4G. The peak rate It can reach 20Gbps, which is equivalent to 20 times that of 4G.
This opens the door to applications such as 4K ultra-high-definition video transmission and live broadcast, VR virtual reality/AR augmented reality, and eye-opening 3D.
In addition to high speed, 5G also has two important features: high reliability, low latency, and low power consumption for large connections, which can greatly promote the popularization of applications such as telemedicine, industrial control, remote driving, smart cities, and smart homes.
Currently, China Mobile and China Telecom are building 5G base stations in many places, including Xiongan New Area, Suzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Lanzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, etc.
